The new hotel will be located in the heart of downtown Tempe on the corner of University and Myrtle Avenue and will be the first Canopy by Hilton in Arizona.
The full-service property will feature 198 guest rooms and suites plus 5,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a signature restaurant, elevated amenities and most notably, the East Valley’s only full-service rooftop pool and bar. Located on the 14th floor, it will offer scenic views and a menu of light bites and local cocktails.
“We look forward to bringing a brand-new hotel, restaurant and rooftop bar to the city of Tempe and the East Valley, filling a niche for an elevated, yet approachable lifestyle destination for locals and business professionals alike. With an innovative design inspired by the neighborhood surroundings, our hotel guests will be able to discover all that downtown Tempe offers with our complimentary transportation, Canopy bikes and a local welcome gift upon check-in. We are all about delightful extras to help our guests relax and revive.”
Alan Klein, General Manager, Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown
Exuding a local boutique vibe, the hotel is inspired by the Southwest and will feature art curated by local artists. The building’s exterior panels will showcase an interpretation of the Arizona State University fight song as a nod to the adjacent local university, a design intent incorporated by Scottsdale-based Allen + Philp by digitizing the notes of the song that are wrapped around the building represented by colored panels.
Just five miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor, the hotel is primely located near the area’s best shopping, dining and entertainment destinations. The hotel will offer guests complimentary transportation around town.
