Sheraton Phoenix Downtown has partnered with REI Co-op Adventures to offer guided outdoor activities exclusive to hotel guests. The hotel’s new Arizona Exploration Package will take guests through the majestic Valley and all its beauty.
“Phoenix has always been synonymous with outdoor exploration and since the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown stands at a central focal point of the destination, we are the perfect starting point for all the activities that the Valley of the Sun has to offer,” says Sheraton Phoenix Downtown’s Market Director of Sales and Marketing William Stratton. “We are excited to partner with REI Co-op to give our guests the opportunity to explore all that Phoenix offers – both on and off our city roads.”
The Arizona Exploration Experience includes six exclusive activities for hotel guests:
- Enjoy a half-day scenic bike tour of Tempe Town Lake for a perfect blend of nature and urban charm. In the heart of Arizona State University, Tempe Town Lake offers the tranquility of the glistening water with the desert landscape of mountains and terrain.
- Pedal through the heart of the Valley with the Downtown Phoenix bike and coffee shop tour. Pass historical landmarks, iconic spots and modern architecture while learning about the rich history of Phoenix, downtown and Arizona. For a refreshing break, the tour will stop at a local coffee shop and to get a taste of everyday Phoenix life.
- Visit the S’edav Va’aki Museum, formerly known as the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park, home to the 1,500-year-old archaeological site that educated locals and visitors on the ancient people who inhabited Phoenix. After soaking up the rich history of Phoenix, continue your journey with a bike ride through Tempe Town Lake.
- Carve out a half-day to hike South Mountain where you can embark on a journey through the diverse Valley and take in the breathtaking landscapes. There are two options for the South Mountain hike: one consisting of only a hike and the other stopping at The Farm at South Mountain, a local favorite, for lunch.
- Take a dip in the Salt River and float down the scenic bend surrounded by mountain peaks, cacti of all shapes and sizes, and river otters while learning about the geology, hydrology, flora, fauna and human history of the Sonoran Desert. Mix adventure with education on this exciting journey down one of Arizona’s most iconic rivers.
Guests who decide to book the Arizona Exploration Package will receive a $50 gift card to REI Co-op, where they can buy high-quality sports gear and apparel, plus Reef Safe SPF 50 Sunscreen, Sedona Springs water bottles and a trail mix snack.

The Arizona Exploration Package starts at $204 per night and is now available through Dec. 4, 2024. Pricing for each experience depends on the number of participants in each party. If you are interested in booking the package, you must reserve your stay at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown at least five days in advance and stay for a minimum of two nights.
