Jade Bar’s Grand Re-Opening

by: Melissa Larsen and Amanda Savage

The newly transformed jade bar at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale makes its highly anticipated (re)debut on Oct. 11. The new-and-improved (and tripled) space will feature expanded seating indoors and out and a stand-up bar of genuine jade (Arizona’s only one, in fact). Outdoors, retractable fabric shade coverings, a fireplace and heaters make cozying up on the enlarged patio the ultimate escape all year round—with the patio’s views of the resort’s scenic setting being the cherry on the top.

The new menu at Jade Bar is designed with all customers in mind. Traditional bar bites like salted chips, spiced and roasted nuts, jaded wings and a jade burger and fries along with healthy options like chilled edamame, roasted eggplant and black bean hummus and market oysters rockefeller bring a tasty variety to the new menu. The crème brulee donuts with house made nutella, although the only dessert option, are the menu’s absolute must-have.

The menu will impress as much as the new digs as renowned mixologist Ryan Magarian has mixed up a fresh lineup of innovative cocktails using the likes of hand-selected premium spirits and the freshest of juices, fruits, herbs (from the on-site garden) and vegetables. A few tasty cocktail examples: Lady Sage (fresh sage leaves with Aviation American Gin, freshly pressed lemon juice, simple syrup and whipped egg white); Shiso Sexy (fresh shiso leaves, vodka, yellow chartreuse, freshly pressed lime juice, simple syrup, Regan’s No.6 Orange Bitters, and cold green tea); Anejo Manhattan (El Tesoro Anejo Tequila, Martini and Rossi Sweet Vermouth, Licor 43, and angostura and orange bitters, garnished with a mole salami-wrapped sour cherry).www.sanctuaryaz.com.
