The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has recently announced that it will transform all of its 732 guest rooms, including 55 suites, and corridors. Scheduled for completion by December 2019, the new look will feature expansive contemporary interior redesigns and enhancements inspired by the Southwest while maintaining the Kierland character.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests and the community to the next iteration of our property’s evolution as it adapts to the needs of tomorrow’s luxury traveler and celebrates the enduring spirit of the Southwest. The debut of The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa’s new guest rooms and resort experiences underscores the exciting growth and development in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, and our elevated resort experience will further its status as a sought-after destination to visit now.”
Brian Montalbano, Resort Manager
The transformation will feature a design in partnership with Parker Torres Design Inc. Guest rooms will better ground each guest with a connection to the natural world and local Sonoran environment, evoking a sense of living amidst the desert.
Beginning with the guest room corridors and lighting, the wayfinding to each guest room intends to reveal a sense of Arizona’s mining history with flashes of metals interspersed among the desert sands and textures. Upon entry into the guest rooms, the color palette and artwork offer a reflection of iconic desert landscapes with soft, neutral desert hues. Inlayed wood patterns captured in sun-baked tones speak to modernized Sonoran Desert patterns, while fabrics capture the Southwestern artisan labors of hand-crafted designs. Accent wall-coverings aspire to reflect sun-setting on desert sand, paying homage to unfiltered Arizona sunshine – the most prevalent throughout the world.
