Villa Santa Cruz resort immerses guests in the natural beauty of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. All rooms on the property include spectacular ocean views where guests can soak in the quiet stillness away from the city’s crowds. The popular vacation destination is known for its fresh seafood, Sierra Laguna mountains and stunning beaches.
Matt Canepa fell in love with the beauty of the Villa Santa Cruz property in 2001. With no plan yet in mind, Canepa purchased 40 acres and began to build the villa of his dreams. Jessica was living in San Francisco at the time, attending her third year of law school when she visited Todos Santos in 2006. While visiting the town, she fell in love with Matt and the land.
The couple got engaged in 2009 at the Crow’s Nest of the Palapa and were married on the Villa’s roof terrace. During the Great Recession, the couple decided to leave their careers in San Francisco and follow their hearts by making Todos Santos their full-time home. In 2011, Matt and Jessica opened Villa Santa Cruz as a four-bedroom boutique hotel and wedding venue.
Over the years, the couple dedicated themselves to developing the property, while preserving the natural landscape of the land. Villa Santa Cruz has grown to now include 16 rooms, bungalows, suites and the luxurious Tented Ocean Suites.
The Tented Ocean Suites offer the ultimate beachfront escape, where the wilderness meets modern luxury. The exterior of the suites looks like a glamping tent and is furnished with a sand bonfire ring, expansive patio and standalone soaker bathtub.
Key amenities of the resort include a saltwater pool and Jacuzzi, a seaside palapa and an on-property restaurant called The Green Room, where guests can savor elevated Mexican seafood and refreshing margaritas while enjoying beachfront views of the Pacific ocean. The resort also offers add-on amenities, such as on-site ATV rentals, surfing lessons, a fishing excursion, cooking classes, yoga classes and more.
