This August, BOLD Summer is returning to Beverly Hills for its third annual year. Taking place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from August 1 through August 24, the bi-annual event brings together the best in art, fashion, music and more, all kicking off along the city’s famed Rodeo Dr.
The fun starts Aug. 1 on Rodeo Dr. with live DJ sets; dueling pianos; a concert by Cristina Ramos, winner of Spain’s Got Talent; and a fireworks display. The following days will debut temporary art installations by Janet Echelman and contemporary street artist Mr. Brainwash, a protégée of Banksy.
Echelman’s installation will span nearly 85 feet above Santa Monica Blvd, with the sculpture suspended between The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and Beverly Gardens Park. Decked out with LED lights, it will illuminate the night sky.
Mr. Brainwash, who gained fame after the Banksy-directed film Exit Through the Gift Shop, will create and unveil a sculpture on Aug. 5 on the 200 block of Rodeo Dr.
Guests will also be able to enjoy other activities during the remainder of the event including curated art walks, a Louis Vuitton X pop-up exhibit with nine rooms showcasing more than 180 items from the Louis Vuitton archives, Beverly Hills Proms, Concerts on Canon, architectural tours on Rodeo Dr, NIKOLAKI gowns on display (courtesy of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and an interactive hashtag mosaic wall.
BOLD Summer will come to an end on Aug. 24 during its Next Night, The BOLD Finale which will feature live entertainment, dancing, interactive art and a beer and wine garden. The final event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on the 200 block of South Beverly Dr.
