Condé Nast Reader’s Choice Awards Includes Arizona Hotels & Resorts

It’s been a big year for various Valley hotels and resorts: welcoming new chefs and employees, revealing new additions and renovations, and – to finish out the year with gusto – placements on Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 10 Hotels in The Southwest and Top 10 Resorts in the Southwest: Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.

This year’s awards were based on over 575,000 votes cast across all hotel categories, with W Scottsdale coming in at #4, Hotel Valley Ho at #6, and The Global Ambassador at #7.

W Scottsdale

The W Scottsdale in Old Town is perfectly situated – guests can enjoy a relaxing, peaceful stay on the grounds or adventure around the Entertainment District. The luxury spot includes the iconic WET Deck pool, the Living Room and Cottontail Lounges and the AWAY Spa. The hotel’s 241 pet-friendly hotel rooms mean all loved ones can find their home away from home.

Hotel Valley Ho

Hotel Valley Ho has become an icon for the city thanks in large part to its mid-century modern atmosphere. The hotel was restored to keep its classic charm with a chic, updated twist. The hotel offers numerous room and suite options, the OHasis Pool and its acclaimed on-site restaurant, ZuZu.

“We’re honored that Condé Nast’s readers ranked us among the very best hotels in the region,” VP and General Manager Ronen Aviram said. “As a locally owned and independent hotel, nothing means more to us than seeing how much our guests loved their experiences here.”

The Global Ambassador

Prolific restaurant innovator Sam Fox created the internationally inspired Global Ambassador. The elevated hotel offers five different culinary offerings and over 140 rooms that merge impressive hospitality, culinary, and wellness experiences within one perfectly and precisely curated destination.

Below are the Arizona resorts that made the Condé Nast reader’s choice list:

Rancho de los Cabelleros

Rancho de los Caballeros came in at No. 2. This historic guest ranch in Wickenburg is known for its picturesque desert landscape and Western charm. It offers activities like horseback riding, golf, and spa services, making it a popular destination for relaxation and adventure. Its rich history and welcoming atmosphere capture the essence of the American Southwest.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

With a blend of upscale amenities, including multiple pools, a world-class spa, and fine dining options, Fairmont Scottsdale caters to both relaxation and recreation. Its beautiful gardens and desert landscape make it easy to see why readers voted it No. 4 on the list.

L’Auberge de Sedona

Coming in at No. 6, L’Auberge de Sedona is a luxurious riverside resort set against the red rock landscape. Guests can enjoy elegant accommodations, many with private decks overlooking the creek, a renowned spa, and superb dining options. The resort’s tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings make it a perfect retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Phoenician

The Phoenician opened in 1988. Originally designed to reflect the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Arizona desert, it has since become a landmark of luxury and hospitality in Scottsdale and the No. 8 choice for readers. The Phoenician offers amenities for relaxation and recreation, featuring a lavish spa, multiple dining options, and a championship golf course.

Arizona Biltmore

Arizona Biltmore celebrated its 95th anniversary in February and is still known for its Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Chase McArthur architectural pedigree and storied history. On February 23, 1929 the resort opened in grand fashion. Over 600 invitations were sent out – the resort had to re-create the opening gala three days in a row to accommodate all 600. From that day forward, the Arizona Biltmore has been a private retreat for some of the most influential powerhouses. The resort’s $170 million renovation within the last four years allowed it to modernize and refresh while keeping the integrity of its 95-year history in place.

“The Reader’s Choice Award means so much to the team because it comes directly from our guests. From the Spire Bar to Saguaro Pool and the Twist Water Slide to our Citrus Club, each enhancement was created to elevate the guest experience,” VP and Managing Director Michael Hoffman said. “Our dedicated team looks forward to welcoming guests to Arizona Biltmore, whether it’s their first time or they’re returning.”
