We all have that long bucket list of travel destinations and vacations that inspires us to get out and explore the world, but realistically won’t ever get fully checked off thanks to limited time off and tight budgets. With so much to see and experience around the globe, more often than not it comes down to picking and choosing from our list of travel “to-do’s.”
To help inspire your future travel decisions, Veranda partnered with Arizona-based Astrologer Molly Cardinal to make a guide of where you should go on your next vacation, based on your zodiac sign.
Here are Cardinal’s picks of vacation destinations inspired by each sign.
Aries: Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda
As a mission-oriented sign, and the first sign of the zodiac, an Aries isn’t afraid to step into unknown territory and take on an exciting expedition. A gorilla safari in Rwanda is one of the most amazing nature excursions, making it a great option for the ram sign. “They’ll appreciate being able to traverse land mostly unbothered by crowds of tourists and taking in authentic, natural sights of the animals in their habitat,” Cardinal says.
Taurus: Dining in Emilia-Romagna, Italy
As the foodies of the zodiac, Tauruses will appreciate visiting a country known for its good food. To take it a step further, a Taurus is not only associated with the physical quality of food, but also with its beauty and excellence, and Emilia-Romagna stands out from other Italian regions for its fine, heritage dishes. “The Emilia-Romagna region’s culinary distinction, slower pace less the busy tourism, and amazing architecture and art make it the ideal destination for Taurus to use their senses,” adds Cardinal.
Gemini: A Scenic Train Through Canada
According to Cardinal, the Gemini mind is always moving and winding from one place to another and might appreciate the constant change of scenery throughout the journey as well as the ambiance and sophistication of train travel. “They love learning, exploring, and stories. A journey on the Rocky Mountaineer train through Canada immerses them in amazing sights while they can listen to hosts entertain them with stories and information on what they’re seeing,” says Cardinal.
Cancer: Skiing in Snowmass, Colorado
The adventure that awaits on the ski slopes and list of things to do around town makes Snowmass an ideal destination for Cancer. “A nonstop high-energy adventure is not for everyone, and since Cancer is driven by the ebbs and flows of emotion and energy, they would do best to travel to a place where they can choose from varying activities to suit their current tune, be that hitting the slopes, exploring local restaurants, riding the coaster, or taking the kids to play games in the village,” Cardinal says.
Leo: Wine Country in Sonoma County, California
For a sign that loves creativity and recreation, this premier wine destination is a perfect fit. In addition to the award-winning wines and beautiful scenery, It’s easy to find retreats and classes in the area that foster creativity and wellbeing. “Being ruled by the sun, the center of the solar system, Leo also expects the best,” says Cardinal. “A trip to Sonoma is a perfect fit for Leo to experience renowned and innovative wines with a bonus of longer, sunnier summer seasons.”
Virgo: Lake Life in Minnesota
A peaceful time by the lake is the vacation Cardinal recommends for Virgo. “Virgo appreciates a balance between lively physical activities and keeping to a regular routine, which is why they’ll love the availability of individual cabins and cottages to maintain their own space,” says Cardinal. “Further, given Virgo’s practical nature, their idea of relaxation doesn’t need to be flashy and extravagant. The menu of down-to-earth activities at this locale, such as fishing, lawn games, and kayaking, will be perfect for Virgo to feel like they still get to do something special, but in a way that is genuine to them.”
Libra: Fiji
The vibrant community and coastal life of Fiji is a wonderful fit for a Libra, who is notorious for seeking harmony and balance, as well as appreciating beauty in all forms. “The beaches of Fiji not only are hypnotically beautiful, but the islands also [allow] Libra to explore a little bit of everything, such as water activities, zip lining, massages, and participating in authentic ceremonies and discovering alluring local culture,” says Cardinal.
Scorpio: Bodrum, Turkey
Scorpios will enjoy relaxing and unwinding in the rich culture and leisure of this beach town. “Scorpio has a particular affinity for the sensuous. In a luxury destination such as Bodrum, Scorpio can thoroughly immerse into the pleasurable milieu in order to shed all the stressors of real life and come back restored—especially by indulging a transformative hammam ritual or scrub treatment,” Cardinal says.
Sagittarius: Paris, France
As one of the most classic but fulfilling adventures, France’s capital is a perfect destination for the centaur sign. “Sagittarius’s ruling planet is Jupiter, the biggest and flashiest in the solar system, and likewise, Sagittarius loves experiences that are grandiose and culturally enriching on a large scale. Paris has everything—fare, history, art, architecture—and a lot of it,” says Cardinal.
Capricorn: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
A capricorn holds high standards for themself, and an escape to the beautiful beaches and clear waters of Punta Cana does not disappoint. The slow-paced, quiet lifestyle of the island will allow them to explore and rest their innovative minds. “Amelia Island, a lesser-known hidden gem of beachy paradise, will suit Aquarius’s desire for unique experiences. Its quieter atmosphere will be a perfect place for Aquarius’s busy mind to sit still for a while,” says Cardinal.
Pisces: Sailing the Greek Isles
“Pisces is a fluid, enchanting sign with a tendency to envision images and artistry that the rest of us can’t always perceive,” shares Cardinal. A sailing trip through the Greek isles honors the water element of Pisces while giving them the inspiring experience of watching paintings of blue waters and dreamy Greek towns come to life in person, according to Cardinal.
