Mexico’s coveted Riviera Nayarit welcomes a bright new era in hospitality with the opening of Conrad Punta de Mita – Hilton’s first-ever Conrad brand resort in Mexico, and the second Conrad brand property in the country.
Situated beside the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific on a two-mile-long beach, the highly anticipated opening of the 324-key property invites travelers to discover contemporary luxury.
The opening of Conrad Punta de Mita marks an important milestone for Hilton, as we bring Conrad-level style, service, and experiences to the shores of Riviera Nayarit.
As one of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations, Punta de Mita is the perfect location for the newest addition to our luxury portfolio in the region – and we can’t wait for our guests to discover the inspiring experiences that await at Conrad Punta de Mita.
– Jorge Giannattasio, Hilton’s senior vice president and head of operations, Caribbean & Latin America
I had the pleasure of visiting this stunning new location, and let me say, it was indeed one of the most relaxing, unique, and authentic travel experiences in my lifetime.
The Architecture
Featuring an extraordinary design by global architecture firm SB Architects, Conrad Punta de Mita was created as a portal into the landscape, history, and rich multi-cultural identity of the region.
Accentuated by lush tropical vegetation, open corridors, and contemporary coastal décor, the resort’s nature-centric aesthetic enhances wellness and reflects a core belief of the Huichol: that transformation and personal development occur through connection to nature.
During your visit, take note of the amount of wood used throughout the property. The management said there are over 200 pieces of handcrafted wood sculptures, art, furniture items, and accents that make every detail a marvel to look at.
The open floor plan of the hotel and views of the ocean make the plane ride and stress of home melt away. Upon arrival, we were given a traditional ‘Raicilla’ based welcome drink at TUKI, the resort’s lobby bar.
Raicilla is a distilled spirit originating in the southwestern portion of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Like tequila and mezcal, it is a product of the agave plant. The cappuccino like craft cocktail was just a small taste of what was to come!
Not big on cocktails? Don’t worry; the resort also offered us some of the BEST tasting fruit punch and mocktails for those not wishing to have a drink after a day of travel. You think you’ve had “100% real fruit juice,” THINK AGAIN!
Accommodations – Views, Views, and more Views
To ensure less crowding, the resort opens with a selection of its 324 guestrooms and suites available, offering a full-service resort experience with the volume of a boutique hotel.
Every room in this resort has stunning ocean views, regardless of a travelers’ price point. Need a night of room service and a sunset to relax after the journey? Not a problem at the Conrad Punta de Mita, the cove the property is built-in offers such seclusion and a privacy factor unrivaled by other resorts.
The bed and bath products are top-notch quality at the Conrad Punta de Mita. After years of broken in resort beds in other resorts and “complimentary” in-house shower products that left my skin feeling like a dried-up cactus.
The locally sourced bath products and brand new mattresses left me feeling so relaxed and refreshed; I was nearly late to ALL of my other activities (no joke, I slept better than I have in my life).
For those seeking an even greater sense of seclusion and exclusivity, and especially ideal for those traveling in small groups, villa-like ‘Casas’ house a combination of guest rooms and suites, some featuring large patios, plunge pools, freestanding soaking tubs, and outdoor showers.
Our talented team has put forth a tremendous effort to instill Conrad’s world-renowned and prestigious reputation of delivering intuitive service, infinite connections, and a world of style in the core of this property that transforms the way today’s generation of travelers experience this coveted spot in Mexico.

Dining – From Farm (and Ocean) to Table
The dining at Conrad Punta de Mita brings a new meaning to the phrase “from farm to table,” and now even “ocean to table.”
Four restaurant and three bar concepts will offer menus and experiences that pay tribute to age-old techniques and flavors of the local culture, all set in a serene ambiance.
TUKI Lobby Bar and Colibri Roasting Co.
The Conrad Punta de Mita offers a fantastic cafe called the Colibri Roasting Company. Start the day with locally sourced Mexican coffee, and some in-house made ice cream for a pit-stop between activities.
From modern cocktails to Mexican classics, the TUKI lobby bar is fantastic to get the evening (or day, no judgments) started for guests. With the draft and bottled Cerveza (beer in Spanish for us gringos), a selection of over 20 red/wine white options, and of course, mezcal and tequila, TUKI is perfect for a quick cocktail!
Arbol
Arbol is an all-day casual dining experience with great views of the property. This relaxed dining environment gives visitors a taste of Mexican classics like red/green chilaquiles, chile Relleno, vegetable frittatas, and more.
An offshoot of the all-day restaurant, the mezcal and tequila barrel tasting room provides an intimate environment to taste Mexico’s most famous spirit.
Explore the world of REAL tequila, mezcal, Mexican whiskey, gin, and many other distillation concoctions. Perfect for small groups, this intimate experience gives you an authentic experience and deep delve into the world of Mexican spirits.
The Conrad Punta de Mita agave expert, Erik, is absolutely phenomenal about the stories behind the spirits. Learn about distillation techniques, a tear-jerking love letter, and the history behind the several plants used for distillation.
Want an even more personal agave tasting experience? The Conrad Punta de Mita offers guests the ability to distill their OWN spirit for special events. Yup, create, refine, and enjoy a signature spirit designed only for YOU (and maybe your guests if you feel like sharing).
MEZQUITE
Now, MEZQUITE is by far one of the most unique and relaxing restaurant environments south of the border. Executive Chef Victor Palma believes in nothing but the finest ingredients brought straight from Mexico herself.
MEZQUITE is the perfect spot to enjoy a casual lunch between dips in the pool and walks on the beach, featuring dishes and drinks with charcoal and wood elements.
Every dish is handmade and caught every day before lunch and dinner service.
To be honest, I am not a fish and seafood kind of individual. However, once you taste Executive Chef Victor Palma’s cuisine on your palate, you will stop asking what you’re even eating. It is just THAT GOOD!
Once the sun sets, the whole mood of MEZQUITE sets as well. Enjoy live music, freshly prepared dishes, and an atmosphere that cannot be put into words.
A few dishes I highly recommend:
- White Shrimp Ceviche: Fresh Coconut, Palo Dulce Honey, Habanero, Carrot, Cucumber, Roasted Corn, Watermelon, Scallions
- Whole Local Shrimp
- 8oz Veal Chop: Roasted Mushrooms, Burnt Sweet Potato, Creamy Corn, Glazed Echalot
- San Carlos Lobster – Risotto, Black Lemon, Grilled Vegetables with Sake
CODEX
Debuting December 2020 is specialty restaurant CODEX, inspired by the ancient Aztec book of herbs, ‘Codice,’ featuring traditional Mexican fare prepared with locally sourced ingredients.
Its daily cleansing and sunset rituals will delight diners, as well as the seasonal Full Moon Experience complete with a ‘SICIRI’ menu curated by the phases of the moon, on-property fermented mezcal tasting, and discussion with a local farmer on the health benefits of their crops and herbs used to prepare the meal.
Activities and Amenities
Conrad Punta de Mita gives guests direct access to discover outdoor oases and adventures through its many amenities and programs, such as three expansive pools, all with poolside dining and service.
A long stretch of sandy beach, access to the Litibu Golf Course, outdoor fitness lawn for yoga and stretching, tennis courts, and experiential visits to a local fish market to witness the local lifestyle. Are all at your fingertips.
Hyper-local experiences both on- and off-property include the “Fish Market and Zarandeado Experience,” complete with a boat tour of the Marietas Islands. This experience brings guests to an original fish market in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle to learn to cook Riviera Nayarit’s regional dish pescado zarandeado.
Through this boat experience, we learned that every year the Riviera Nayarit transforms into the perfect stage for whale watching on the coast of the Mexican Pacific. In fact, whale watching is one of the top tourist attractions in the region starting in mid-December.
The whales are “hyper-active” due to their mating ritual and, of course, the men trying to show off for local females.
Want some time to explore and mingle with the locals? Guests can take a day trip to the town of Sayulita, a beautiful beach and surf community about 25-30 minutes away. Enjoy some local shopping, restaurants, and of course, relax on the picturesque beaches.
The Conrad SPA
No resort stay is complete with a trip to the spa, am I right? The Conrad SPA, spread across 10,000 square feet, offers a unique indoor/outdoor design complete with seven cocoon treatment cabanas nestled among the vegetation and connected by an inspiring tunnel of plants and flowers, as well as the first-ever traditional Temazcal in a Hilton property.
Enjoy massages, facials, wellness therapies, and an environment that has been blessed by local Mexican shamans. The spa also offers an AMAZING 100% natural aloe vera skin treatment for us, fair-skinned individuals. Skip the burning, peeling, and a week of dry skin with a two-hour aloe cocoon treatment that DESTROYS any “all-natural” aloe vera gel.
