The Camby, an Autograph Collection Hotel nestled in Phoenix’s upscale Biltmore neighborhood, recently debuted its full interior renovation alongside opening a new signature restaurant called Yellowbell. Inspired by Arizona’s natural beauty and vibrant culture, the reimagined Camby blends modern elegance with the rugged charm of the desert.
The extensive renovation includes a makeover of the hotel’s 279 guest rooms, including 14 suites, and updates to the lobby, corridors and common areas.
“The redesign represents a transformative evolution of the hotel’s classic architecture, keeping its crown molding and high ceilings while incorporating modern elements to balance classic and contemporary styles,” General Manager Christine Menzel said.
The renovation incorporates multifunctional spaces designed for relaxation and connection. Open communal areas, curated art installations and enhanced amenities create a seamless blend of beauty and luxury living.
“The renovation marks a fresh chapter for the hotel, representing refined revelry and reinstating its role as a central and chic gathering palace in Phoenix,” Menzel added.
Named after a native Arizona flower, the all-new restaurant concept – Yellowbell – reflects the warmth and joy of its namesake, offering a menu inspired by the region’s indigenous ingredients. Lead Executive Chef Alfredo Alvarez blends Southwestern flavors with a modern twist in his culinary creations.
“Yellowbell is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of our local culture and community,” Alvarez said. “We’re excited to offer a new, memorable dining experience where both guests and locals can immerse themselves in the essence of Arizona.”
The menu includes locally sourced ingredients in its signature dishes, such as Green Chili Cornbread, baked Oaxaca cheese, and Sage Honey Salmon. Yellowbell’s bar program focuses on agave-based spirits, with a curated selection of tequila and mezcal. Signature cocktails, including the Chile Mule and the Mezcal-based ‘I Need a Hot One,’ offer guests a genuine taste of the Southwest.
The restaurant’s design mirrors its culinary philosophy of combining Arizona’s natural charm with modern flair. Warm earth tones, natural materials, and local artwork contribute to a welcoming interior that perfectly complements the bold menu flavors.
The Camby’s renovation is focused on enhancing the overall guest experience. New additions, such as the on-site Cartel Roasting Co. and a daily champagne toast, add thoughtful touches to make every stay unforgettable.
“The renovation focuses on elevating the guest experience through inviting, multifunctional spaces designed for relaxation and connection,” Menzel said. “Ultimately, the goal is to create a seamless blend of comfort and style that appeals to leisure and business travelers.”
With its fresh look and new culinary offerings, The Camby reaffirms its status as a stylish and sophisticated destination in Phoenix. Yellowbell is open daily, serving breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit thecamby.com.
