Silver Rose Bakery officially opened its first retail location in 2024, marking an exciting new chapter for husband-and-wife team Michael and Priscilla Sweet – and congratulations are in order for their one-year anniversary!
Silver Rose’s story began in 2018 when the couple started baking from their home kitchen. Over the years, they’ve catered to thousands of weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. But as demand grew, they knew they had to expand to continue serving their loyal customers.
The couple launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to help fund a new retail space, receiving an outpouring of support. While the campaign didn’t fully fund the expansion, the Sweets were deeply grateful for the encouragement they received, which helped them bring their vision to life.
In the shop, customers get a chance to experience iconic treats, from wedding and custom cakes to signature desserts like cheesecake, cream puffs, cannolis, and mini tarts. It’s their famous 54 flavors of cake pops that have truly set them apart. With gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options available, there’s something for everyone.
Silver Rose Bakery isn’t your typical bakery. The space has a fun, relaxed vibe with an open layout where customers can watch the magic happen – cakes being baked, decorated, and cake pops being rolled.
While the bakery doesn’t offer traditional snacks like pastries, bread, or pies, it focuses exclusively on made-to-order cakes and desserts. Customers are encouraged to place orders ahead of time, preferably two weeks in advance. The bakery does keep a selection of grab-and-go items like cake pops and mini cakes available for those who want to indulge on the spot.
The store’s one small table is reserved for consultations, which are by appointment only. These appointments provide an interactive, fun experience where customers can work directly with the Sweets to dream up and create their own wedding or celebration cake flavors.
Michael and Priscilla’s entrepreneurial journey wasn’t without its hurdles, but the love they have for baking and their commitment to providing delicious, high-quality treats have been the driving force behind Silver Rose Bakery’s success.
