Mixela, Phoenix’s newest dining destination, offers its guests a Latin American adventure thanks to its tapas and signature cocktails. The culinary spot – located at 3410 N. 24th St. – offers small plates, crudos, sushi, and hand-crafted tapas created by Chef Gian Franco Brugaletta to bring friends and the community together in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
“We are excited to bring a fresh culinary experience to Phoenix,” Brugaletta said. “Mixela celebrates the essence of an aperitivo bar, where guests can come together over flavorful bites and quality drinks – it’s all about enjoying good food with good company.”
With roots in Venezuela and Italy and years of honing his craft in the sushi scene of Monaco, Chef Brugaletta brings a unique global perspective to the table. Mixela honors intense flavors with fresh ingredients that can be shared by many. The ever-changing menu celebrates each season, inviting guests to enjoy thoughtfully crafted dishes that showcase the freshest flavors and techniques.
The restaurant’s signature dishes include green chile beef empanadas and Peruvian sea bass ceviche. It also features weekly rotating specials, including Taco Tuesday, Sangria Wednesday (house-made, fruit-forward sangrias for $10), Thirsty for Wine Thursday (select wines for 20 percent off), and Friday Bubbles, with $10 sparkling selections.
“Mixela is more than a restaurant, it’s an experience,” Brugaletta said. “We wanted to create a place where people feel at home while discovering something new. Every dish reflects the passion and creativity we pour into our craft.”
Craft cocktails, Latin American-inspired drinks, and a curated wine list complement each dish perfectly. Small groups of four or less can eat and drink in the dining room, on the shaded patio, or at the intimate bar.
The restaurant prides itself on having an inviting and casual atmosphere while operating on a walk-in basis. The dog-friendly patio makes the Phoenix spot the ideal location for celebrating the art of slow dining while enjoying these “winter” temperatures. For more information, visit mixelaphx.com.
