Annual Prickly Pear Harvest at Tanque Verde Ranch Tucson Returns This Month

Tanque Verde Ranch

Venture out into the Sonoran Desert to collect prickly pears and get creative with cacti-inspired dishes during the annual Prickly Pear Harvest at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, which returns August 17–20 and August 24–27 with prickly pear cacti-themed activities and treats.

Guests will have the opportunity to take part in prickly pear harvesting out in the beautiful Sonoran Desert before enjoying demonstrations from Tanque Verde Ranch’s culinary team throughout the weekend, where they will learn how to prepare prickly pear dishes and drinks, including prickly pear cocktails, pastries and savory plates.

On the Sunday of both harvest weekends, the ranch’s famous pancake breakfast ride with a prickly pear spin will take place at the Old Homestead from 7 a.m.– 9:30 a.m., where guests will meet on horseback, bikes, carts or on foot to enjoy breakfast featuring the resort’s famous pancakes with prickly pear goodness.

Of course, Tanque Verde Ranch’s signature, all-time favorite prickly pear margarita will be available throughout the season as well, which guests will learn how to create in the Dog House Saloon.

With Tanque Verde Ranch’s Prickly Pear Harvest Package, guests will also enjoy resort inclusions such as lodging with three hearty meals daily; scheduled breakfast rides and cowboy cookouts; a supervised children’s program (ages 4–11); horseback walking and loping; trail rides and lessons; mountain biking, team penning, hikes and nature programs; kids arts and crafts; fishing, archery and horseshoes; a fitness center; indoor and outdoor pools; and evening activities and entertainment.
