As Cinco de Mayo approaches next week (Friday–nice!), it is time to get your party plans in order. These Valley restaurant are dishing up fabulous eats and drink specials in honor of the festive, food-forward celebration.
The newly opened Mountain Shadows hosts the Cinco de Mayo Golf & Cigar dinner, including a round of golf at The Short Course followed by a delicious dinner on the Camelback Overlook rooftop deck. Enjoy several full-sized cigars from Cigar King along with Mexican wines, sangria, mezcal cocktails and Casamigos Tequila. The golf gathering is at 2 p.m., followed by the 3 p.m. tee time. The reception is at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
Sister restaurants, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers ($6 Patron shots, $7 margaritas and $3 pints or $4 mugs of Dos Equis), Wasted Grain ($6 Patron shots, $7 margaritas and $3 pints of Dos Equis) and The Funky Monk ($6 Patron shots, $7 Patron Funky-ritas and $3 pints of Dos Equis) are each dishing out stellar drink specials in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
El Hefe and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row Tempe have teamed up to throw a massive block party in Tempe to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Local DJ’s will be spinning and both locations will be decked out in décor with surprises for its guests. Drink specials include $6 El Jimidor shots and drinks, $8 Don Julio shots and drinks, and $200 Don Julio bottles before 9 p.m
El Hefe Scottsdale is hosting “Cinco de Hefe.” The famous mini donkey, Pancho, will be there to pet and take pictures with. Guests will enjoy amazing food and drink deals including $6 Cazadores shots and drinks, $9 Patron shots and drinks, and $200 bottles of Patron until 9 p.m.
Uptown Alley will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo Monday, May 1, through Sunday, May 7. Uptown Alley will be serving three street tacos for $5, Three Amigos Margaritas for $5 and $3 Coronas.
Celebrate Cinco De Mayo for after-work margaritas, tequila shot toasts, happy hour or dinner at CRUjiente Tacos (pictured). On Cinco de Mayo and every day from 3 to 6 p.m., CRU Tacos offers happy hour. Happy hour deals include $5 premier CRU margaritas, $4 chips and salsa, $7 queso, $7 chips and guacamole, $3 pork belly taco, and $3 Korean fried chicken taco. CRU’s regular menu with signature crujiente (crunchy) and street-style tacos will also be available.
“Rock out” this Cinco de Mayo at BLK Live in Scottsdale while enjoying ground beef, shrimp, pork, fish or chicken tacos served with a side of spicy mayo street corn for $10 per plate. Pair your tacos with a $5 margarita “Cinco De Drinko” special while jamming out to a live performance by The Corley Group from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. with a CD release party for “Max V.” Happy hour specials will be offered from 3 to 7 p.m. and reverse happy hour from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. to keep the party going all night.
Downtown Scottsdale’s Social Tap will be hosting its one-year anniversary in conjunction with a Cinco De Mayo celebration. On Friday, May 5 from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., attendees can enjoy $2.50 mix and match taco deals, $2 taquitos, $6 frozen margaritas and $4 pints of Dos Equis. There will be live music provided by a band and the celebratory event is free to attend.
New restaurant alert: Evening Entertainment Group’s Casa Añejo Tacos and Tequila, a stylish sit-down restaurant, lounge and outdoor patio overlooking the 7th Street dining district, is slated to open May 5. Casa Añejo Tacos and Tequila serves an all-day menu of modern, wood-fired twists on authentic Mexican fare (standouts include the custom guacamole bar and taco take-out program) within the walls of a vibrant space created by professional designer and host of HGTV and DIY Network’s Kitchen Crashers, Alison Victoria. To drink, diners can enjoy an extensive menu of premium Mexican spirits and craft cocktails.
At Joyride Taco House, knock back aguas frescas, wines by the glass, and pitchers of beer for $5 each from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Plus, enjoy seven different flavors of margaritas for $5 each and seven varieties of tacos for only $2 from 2 until 6 p.m. On May 5, Joyride Taco House is open from 11 a.m. until midnight so the party can keep rolling all day at both the Phoenix and Gilbert locations.
Modern Margarita at High Street is hosting a Cinco De Modern Block Party on May 5. Enjoy live entertainment from 3 p.m. to close, food and drinks specials, raffle prizes every hour, and fun backyard games like corn hole. The 21-plus event starts at 3 p.m. and costs $10 which includes admission and one raffle ticket. Table reservations start at $200.
Taco Guild will be offering a special on Cinco de Mayo with the Americana cocktail, which is any draft beer with a shot of Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine Reposado for $12 along with their regular happy hour menu. Taco Guild is also hosting a fun “Name that Drink” contest. The special drink (with tequila, triple sec, lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, fresh blackberries and fresh basil leaves) is being created for Cinco de Mayo and guests who order this drink on Cinco de Mayo will have the chance to name it. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Taco Guild.
Sprinkles is excited to announce the return of the Casamigos Margarita Cupcake—just in time for Cinco de Mayo. Available from for the entire month, this key lime cake is loaded with Casamigos Blanco Tequila and topped with key lime frosting.
El Palacio Restaurant & Cantina is celebrating with Mexican flag enchiladas (one roja machaca, one verde chicken, one pork ranchera) for $8, queso dip for $8, carnitas torta for $8 and margaritas for $4.
Sandbar Mexican Grill in Phoenix and Chandler will feature live music and DJ’s all evening long on Friday, May 5 (alongside 11 varieties of tacos). Sandbar Chandler will feature performances by Metalhead with an opening set by The Hourglass Cats, plus DJ Metcalf will close the evening with a live performance. Sandbar Desert Ridge will also have live performances featuring Vaughn Willis and Ear Candy. Both locations of Sandbar Mexican Grill will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Cinco de Mayo.
RnR in Scottsdale will be celebrating all day long with $2 off all tacos, quesadillas and nachos. RnR features five varieties of tacos including ahi tacos, pulled pork, and veggie. Plus, they will have margarita and beer specials all day long.
At Aunt Chilada’s at Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Tempe, savor more than 50 different renowned tequilas. Plus, Cinco de Mayo calls for Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine Tequila and DJ Torres from 5 to 8 p.m. in the bar. (Make it an overnight party as the resort’s Cinco de Mayo Package includes deluxe accommodations at Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, chips and guacamole and two house margaritas at Aunt Chilada’s.)
In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, on May 5, Sierra Bonita Grill will be offering a special price all day on two of its popular margaritas Fresh Squeezed Margarita and Pomegranate Margarita will be $5 each), $12 lunch deals, and extended happy hour from 3 p.m. to close. Plus, during lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sierra Bonita Grill will also be offering five lunch specials for only $12 each.
Mi Caza Es Su Caza taking place at Westgate’s Salt Tacos Y Tequila, where guests can enjoy $5 Tequila Cazadores margaritas. Attendees will also be treated to an authentic celebration, bringing the streets of Jalisco to life. During Mi Caza Es Su Caza, guests come together and cheers to the victory at the Battle of Puebla with true Mexican-inspired sips.
