No, I’m not talking about some reality show spin-off that involves gettting in the kitchen with Bristol Palin or The Situation. Carefree’s The Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa is hosting a Dining With the Stars wine and astrology dinner on Saturday, Sept. 18. Guests are treated to a six-course alfresco dinner complete with spiritual readings by noted astrologer, Tom McMullan. (McMullan will focus on the planets and constellations and how each influence our lives in addition to showing how different signs relate to each other.) Plus, each dinner course is paired with selections from Joyce Vineyard Winery. The dinner is $95 and the event starts at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and appetizers. Here’s a look at the out-of-this-world menu:
Heirloom Beet Carpaccio served with Laura Chenel Goat Cheese, Candied Pistachios, Wild Baby Arugula with a Banyuls Vinaigrette; paired with 2008 Joyce Vineyards “Black Mountain” Chardonnay
Steelhead Salmon with Young Rainbow Chard, Kohlrabi, Fricassee of Laughing Bird Shrimp, and Celery Root Veloute; paired with 2008 Joyce Vineyards “Black Mountain” Pinot Noir
Grilled Black Figs, Serrano Ham, Lemon Basil Sorbet and Mascarpone Cheese
Juniper-Brined Buffalo Strip with Potato Soufflé, Hen of the Wood Mushrooms, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, and Tellicherry Saba Gastrique; paired with 2006 Joyce Vineyards “Mesa Del Sol” Syrah
