Fox Restaurant Concepts is kicking off 2025 by opening two of its beloved restaurants in Tempe at Novus Place: Flower Child and Blanco Cocina + Cantina. Flower Child will debut on February 4; the following day, February 5, Blanco Cocina + Cantina will open its doors.
“When we opened Culinary Dropout in Tempe almost a decade ago, we witnessed firsthand the city’s incredible energy and potential,” Founder Sam Fox said. “Novus Place is raising the bar even further, serving as a beacon for downtown Tempe, the ASU campus, and the community. This location perfectly captures the momentum driving us to expand our footprint here – Tempe’s vibrancy has never been stronger.”
Flower Child
Flower Child is known for its fresh, nutritious menu, which caters to every dietary preference, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. The restaurant’s mission is simple: serve wholesome food that makes people happy. Menu favorites include the Mother Earth Bowl, which features ancient grains, avocado, sweet potato, and a red pepper miso vinaigrette. Another standout is the gluten-free mac and cheese, made with aged cheddar and parmesan.

Blanco Cocina + Cantina
Blanco Cocina + Cantina promises bold flavors and a laid-back, relaxing atmosphere. Menu highlights include tiger shrimp fajitas with spicy garlic butter, BBQ pork tacos with roasted corn slaw and crema fresca, roasted poblano chili and a tomato cheese crisp. The short rib machaca chimichanga – made “Sam Style” with a crunchy taco – delivers for those craving indulgence.
Blanco’s cocktail program is equally impressive, with signature drinks like Dodge’s Cadillac Margarita and the Tamarindo Mule. Guests can also explore tequila and mezcal flights and refreshing agua frescas. The restaurant will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on weekends.
