Novus Place, the new main street entertainment district within Arizona State University and Catellus Development Corporation’s 355-acre, mix-use development project known as Novus Innovation Corridor, is bringing a culinary haven to Tempe.
The new entertainment hub will serve as the central gathering place of the multi-phase Novus development and is on its way to becoming an all-day and -night foodie’s paradise with iconic Fox Restaurant Concepts as the anchor tenant, along with five additional eateries; several of which are first to the market.
Fox Restaurant Concepts recently signed a lease with Catellus Development Corporation to open three popular concepts, including Flower Child, Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina and North Italia, at the new entertainment district, which will be joined by Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Over Easy, The Alley and Nautical Bowls.
Scheduled to open in 2024, the three stand-alone restaurants by Fox Restaurant Concepts will each feature an outdoor patio, valet parking and take-out spaces. Guests will be able to enjoy Flower Child’s seasonal made-from-scratch meals, Mexican favorites with a fresh twist from Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina, as well as chef’s daily pizzas and other crave-worthy Italian cuisine at North Italia.
“There is a seismic shift of energy coming to the downtown Tempe area, and it’s centered in Novus,” says celebrated restaurateur Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “We are thrilled that Blanco Cocina + Cantina, Flower Child, and North Italia will have a home on Novus Place.”
“With their culinary specialties and distinct energy, FRC’s concept will bring Novus Place to life,” says Catellus Senior Vice President Charley Freericks.
The culinary scene at Novus Place will also feature Flagship Restaurant Group’s Blue Sushi Sake Grill, which will occupy 6,021 square feet. Blue Sushi Sake Grill is the largest sushi group running a sustainably sourced seafood program in partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch and offers one of the broadest menus of vegan sushi in the country.
Other exciting additions will include California-based Eureka!, spanning 4,290 square feet with an al fresco patio and water feature, indoor-outdoor bar, live music stage and whiskey club lockers and serving gourmet burgers, local craft beers, small-batch whiskeys and craft cocktail; and popular local restaurant Over Easy that will occupy 3,154 square feet of space that will include a spacious indoor patio.
The Alley, a tea purveyor new to Arizona, will serve signature milk teas and fruit-infused drinks in an aesthetically pleasing 1,738-square-foot space, while Minnesota-based Nautical Bowls will offer delicious and nutritious acai and superfood bowls made with organic, all-natural ingredients in a fun and energetic 1,211-square-foot space.
When complete, Novus Place will span 275,000 square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment options for residents and visitors to enjoy, as well as shaded walkways, paved bike paths, urban parks and pedestrian promenades.
