The Royale, a vibrant outdoor complex in Phoenix’s Melrose District, is celebrating its first anniversary with a fun-filled free community event and an exciting rebrand of one of its most popular restaurants. The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on February 8 and will feature live performances, a live art exhibit, food and drink specials, and exclusive giveaways.
Guests can enter the Big Royale Raffle to win exciting prizes from the local businesses that call The Royale home. The money raised will go toward creating additional community-centric art murals on street-facing building facades.
“Our vision for The Royale was to blend mid-century modern style with an inclusive atmosphere, transforming what was once dilapidated auto-body garages surrounding a junkyard into a vibrant center for connection, creativity, and joy,” Architect and Designer Rocco Menaguale said.
Within are Cult Hair Studio & Spa, Window Coffee Bar, Stem Swag, Rocco Designs, Scott Kirby Photo, and Your Health and Wellness.
YUMBAR, the beloved causal restaurant and bar within the coop, is entering an exciting new chapter as owners Mark Howard and Rocco Menaguale unveil a reimagined concept: Royale Kitchen + Cocktails.
The space will continue to be a go-to destination for everyday dining, offering an elevated experience with every meal. The rebrand will emphasize the venue’s identity as a neighborhood restaurant rather than just a bar by introducing new drink menus, daily specials, monthly events, and interior design elements that create a more intimate and cozy environment.
“The new name better reflects our focus as a neighborhood restaurant serving a large variety of metropolitan cuisine from our culinary team led by Chef Jeff Blake,” Howard said. “New selections and reimagined favorites, along with our expanded martini, wine, and craft cocktail menus, offer our guests an exceptional experience seven days a week.”
Fan favorites like the yum burger, jalapeño popper sandwich, and the signature Mark Daddy martini will be an extended dinner section of their menu, including items like the peachy keen chicken sandwich, that shrimp coconut curry, and the BLT eggs benedict for brunch.
“We wanted to create a space that reflects the Melrose neighborhood’s character and brings people together,” Menaguale said. “We are excited to celebrate our anniversary with the community and introduce the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere that makes this space so special.”
