Valley dwellers love a good getaway–a relaxing time when we can avoid the heat for a few days, even a few hours. We especially love a little escape when food is involved. The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, near Tucson, offers just that: a tasty, food-filled getaway. The luxury resort just unveiled a new prix fix dinner menu, as well as a Friday-evening CORE Experience at the property’s signature restaurant, CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar.
Prix Fixe Dinner Menu
The culinary team of CORE has partnered with several local producers to create a $39 three-course dinner menu inspired by the season. While the menu will change based on daily harvests, sample highlights include a starter of Chilled Corn Soup and Chili Popcorn; a main course of cilantro-marinated chicken breast with calabacitas, red pepper sauce and chili tortilla strips; and a dessert of Mexican chocolate mousse and mesquite cookies. Wine pairings will be available as an added option. The new prix fix menu is available Sunday through Wednesday evenings.
CORE Wine Experience
A fun, informative tasting experience focusing on specific regions, varietals and wine styles, this event is priced at $15 per person and is offered every Friday. Restaurant Sommelier Michael West personally discusses the selected wines, wine history, geography and food pairings and also fields questions from guests. Three different wines are presented each week, complemented by petit charcuteries and accompanying notes about the wines and wineries discussed. Wine Experience guests will receive a 15 percent discount on the selected wines tasted that evening as well as a 10 percent discount on dinner immediately after the event.
