Night Owl has plans to open its second location in a new neighborhood with its signature mix of pinball, pizza, and patio-centered fun. Welcoming fellow night owls until 2 a.m. Monday through Sunday, the Tempe location will pair premium pizzas, smashburgers, pub grub with craft cocktails and beers, and bar games.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Night Owl’s second location to Tempe this summer,” Mayor Corey Woods said. “Our city has always been known as a place to gather with friends, grab a late-night bite or drink and enjoy entertaining venues. We’re excited to see what Night Owl brings to our community, whether it’s a quick lunch or an after-hours slice of delicious pizza.”
The restaurant team is set to entirely revamp the 5,500 sq. ft. space, previously home to longtime local landmark Riazzi’s Italian Garden. A central bar with a trademark light-up bar top crafted from vintage pinball machine playfields will be added, along with a larger kitchen offering additional features and expanded menu options. Night Owl will open daily at 11 a.m. with an even larger tree-filled and fireplace-lined patio.
Guests will be able to choose their own adventure, whether that starts in the dedicated dining room, the pinball and arcade, or the sprawling, shaded 2,000 sq. ft. garden patio.
Best described as a welcoming neighborhood watering hole, Night Owl is led by an all-star flock of local nightlife pros: Tucker Woodbury, Chuckie Duff, and Ari Bracamonte, who are all known collectively for their hands in Phoenix landmarks like Little Woody, Cobra Arcade Bar and Ziggy’s Pizza.
“In all our years of creating dining and nightlife experiences across the Valley, we’ve never had the right opportunity in Tempe. This new spot reminded us so much of the original Night Owl, and Tempe has been an incredible partner in making this a reality,” Woodbury said. “It’s an underserved neighborhood as far as local hangouts go, where you can bring the family during the day, get happy hour after work, or meet up for late-night eats.”
The new location will have the same modern – but also proudly retro – feel as the original South Scottsdale bar that opened in 2023 and became an immediate hit thanks to its unique mix of high-quality, craveable food and craft drinks served in a casual, neighborhood-centric setting. Night Owl’s second location is slated to open its second location in the summer of 2025. Stay updated by visiting nightowlaz.com.
