Tempe just got more delicious with today’s opening of TRES. (TRES will be open Feb. 16 to 18 starting at 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. serving happy hour and dinner service. Beginning Monday, Feb. 19, The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Happy hour will be served from 3 to 6 p.m. daily.)
The menu showcases the flavors of the desert southwest, Spain and the Mediterranean and highlights craft cocktails, and extensive wine and beer offerings. The energetic Tempe dining destination focuses on three styles of eating (hence the name, TRES). Diners can dig into dinners, quick bites or full meals during lunch, light bites during happy hour and a varied dinner approach that appeals to bar patrons, single diners, groups and families. The large bar will be the place to see and be seen as it will serve as a community gathering space for the happenin’ happy hour scene. Aside from the bar, the wood-burning oven is another focal point of the restaurant and is where many of the dishes come to life.
Dishes to check out include the flavor-packed blistered shishito peppers, bacon-wrapped Medjool dates, spicy lamb Merguez sliders, Rueben Cuban, TRES burger, salmon papillote, paella Valenciana and beef osso bucco. To wet the whistle, TRES features beer, wine and mescal flights, an extensive wine selection, sangrias and margaritas, spirit-free cocktails, and a specialty craft cocktail menu. The pineapple hibiscus cooler, spiced pear sour and build-your-own meals are all available for sipping and savoring.
“We are combining traditional and familiar southwestern and Mexican flavors with the light, healthy and popular dishes found in the Mediterranean region,” says Executive Chef Steve Zimmerman. “It’s a very unique menu that is geared to our neighbors’ palates.”
TRES’ interior design impresses as much as the menu with a modern dining environment where industrial chic meets a cool Mediterranean and Southwestern palate. The design complements the restaurant’s vibrant energy which spills onto the exterior where a spacious open-air, community-building courtyard provides a variety of dining experiences and fun games like corn hole and bocce ball.
To celebrate the opening of Tempe’s newest dining destination, TRES will offer 33 days of specials (Feb. 19 though March 23). Stop by for the happy hour menu all day, every day, everywhere in the restaurant; buy one small or medium plate for lunch, get one free (available on small and medium menu items only, not on large feasts and must make reservation to redeem); and, during dinner hours, get a free small plate with purchase of a medium plate (limit one per table). To redeem, diners must mention specials at time of order, and advanced reservations for the lunch special are required.
