The West Valley – specifically, Surprise – is now home to the seventh O.H.S.O. Brewery in Arizona. In collaboration with Kind Upper Room Ventures, LLC and B.A.D. Ventures, the brewery is now able to answer customer requests for an O.H.S.O. closer to home.
The new location’s layout was developed to be identical to previous locations. Boasting an inviting 2,000-square-foot patio and 4,500-square-foot indoor dining space, the brewery can accommodate nearly 350 guests.
The patio includes a top-notch misting system to keep cool during hot summer days, and – as with all locations – O.H.S.O. Surprise is dog-friendly and provides water bowls and fountains for furry friends to join in the fun.
The menu is described as an elevation to classic bar cuisine. It offers a wide selection, but a few highlights include the Brewer’s Board with honey thyme goat cheese, fig jam, andouille sausage, prosciutto, almonds, fresh fruit, tangerine and chile marinated olives with roasted tomatoes and I.P.A. mustard and garlic bread and the beer-braised short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes, porter demi sauce and seasonal vegetables. Gluten-free and vegan menus are also available.
O.H.S.O. offers cocktails, spirits, wine, and over 30 beers on tap, including several gluten-reduced bevvies. They also offer brand-new, house-made hard seltzers in flavors like spicy mango, watermelon and lemonade.
The brewery came to be when Jon Lane and Brian Roerich joined forces to bring home brewers and guests together – where they could brew their own beer and get it on tap at the same place. O.H.S.O., which opened its first location in 2011, stands for Outrageous Homebrewer’s Social Outpost.
“With the Valley’s population growing and the city of Surprise’s population increasing rapidly, we are beyond excited to open this facility for residents in the West Valley,” said Derek Boettcher, owner and Operator of Kind Upper Room Ventures LLC. “We are thankful for the community’s support and look forward to serving the longtime loyal guests of O.H.S.O. as well as new guests and families in the area. We are also thankful to Brian and Jon for their trust in us representing their brand to the residents of the West Valley, as well as their support during our training and restaurant opening.”
In late July, the Mayor of Surprise and members of the city’s economic development office attended the grand opening to celebrate the new location.
O.H.S.O. Brewery’s Surprise location is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 9 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
