The Main Ingredient is unveiling an upgrade on March 23 with the official grand opening of its newly built outdoor bar. The downtown staple is marking the occasion with specials, a raffle, and ribbon cutting by Mayor Gallego to kick off the festivities.
Throughout the afternoon, a portion of all sales will be donated to the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children, supporting local families affected by cancer. The new bar adds to the ambiance of The Main Ingredient’s dog-friendly patio, complete with misters and fans to keep guests comfortable even on the hottest of Arizona summer days.
“Sitting at the bar is a more social experience in our opinion,” Owner Ron Amneus said. “If you come in by yourself for a bite to eat and sit at a four-top table, you most likely won’t be interacting with other people. But sitting at the bar, with other solo patrons, you can become more social and meet new people if you’d like.”
From 2 p.m. to close, the restaurant will offer $4.80 draft beers, live painting by local artists, and music from two local DJs. DJ LaRue and DJ Grassy Noel will spin records all day while guests enjoy sandwiches, salads, craft beers, and cocktails made with locally sourced ingredients from the scratch kitchen.
“It’s going to be a great time for a great cause!” Amneus said. “Partnering with Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children allows us to give back to our community, and anything we can do to help local families in the most difficult times is very important to all of us.”
