Peter McQuaid Named Executive Chef of The Americano

The Americano is stirring up excitement with its latest announcement: Peter McQuaid, a culinary virtuoso, is now the executive chef.

At just 26 years old, McQuaid is a recipient of the James Beard Foundation Taste America Award and has a history of working at some of the most esteemed restaurants in the country, including Michelin-starred restaurant DANIEL. Most recently, he was the executive chef of Cala at Scottsdale’s Senna House, which he helped open with celebrity Chef Beau MacMillan.

McQuaid is ready to take over at the upscale Italian-inspired steakhouse, which has quickly become one of north Scottsdale’s most coveted dinner hotspots.

“I’m honored to join The Americano and for the opportunity to continue to work alongside Beau,” McQuaid said. “Our collaborations have been a cornerstone of my career, and our shared vision for innovation has always driven me. I’m eager to build on our successes to create something truly exceptional.”

The Americano is a trendy and refined spot with modern art and striking sculptures. The dining room offers a variety of cozy booths, leather seats, and butcher-block tables, where diners can watch the open kitchen and wood-fired grill prepare masterful creations. The steakhouse promises a dining experience that is both elegant and approachable, with a menu that balances fine-aged steaks, house-made pasta, Italian antipasti, and Mediterranean seafood.

MacMillan, an Arizona legend and fellow Food Network star, is the acting director of culinary for Creation Hospitality, the owner of The Americano. His collaboration with McQuaid has been a key factor in revamping the restaurant’s menu, which will debut in late September. This collaboration promises to bring a fresh and innovative culinary experience to The Americano, which – among its dishes, also features a selection of 300 distinct wines from established and emerging Italian and American labels, adding to the richness of the dining experience.

“I’ve been working with Peter since he was a teenager, and it’s been incredible to watch him grow into the extraordinary chef he is today. I have no doubt that he is a culinary legend in the making,” MacMillan said. “His talent, dedication, and passion for the craft are unmatched. Over the years, we’ve created magic in the kitchen, and I’m looking forward to continuing that journey as we shape the future of The Americano together.”

MacMillan plans to continue working closely with McQuaid as he oversees the restaurant’s operations. For more information, visit theamericanorestaurant.com.
