Did you know that May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month? To honor this month, several Valley restaurants are offering gluten-free menus so celiac sufferers can still enjoy their delicious eats–worry free.
Scottsdale’s Eddie V’s Prime Seafood and Wildfish Seafood Grille both rolled out their gluten-free menus at the start of the month. Some of the new gluten-free menu items at Eddie V’s include Tartare of Ahi Tuna served with Curry and Sesame Oils, Sliced Avocado, Mango & Citrus; Colossal Shrimp cocktail style with Atomic Horseradish; Heirloom Tomato Salad with Bufala Mozzarella, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar; Scottish Salmon seared with Pan Roasted Mushrooms & Scallion Potato Puree; Louisiana Reddish Broiled with Fresh Lump Crab and Lemon Butter; Seafood Chopped Salad with Crab, Shrimp, Avocado, Candied Walnuts and Remoulade; 12 oz. Filet Mignon; Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Shallots; and Sautéed Spinach with Parmigiano-Reggiano. At Wildfish, gluten-free menu options include Fuji Apple Salad served with Green Beans, Candied Walnuts and Sesame Ginger Vinaigrette; Jonah Crab Claws Fully Cracked on ice with Cocktail Sauce; Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Baked with Spicy Remoulade Sauce; Hawaiian Sea Bass Steamed with Lemon and Garlic; North Atlantic Scallops Sautéed with Citrus Fruits, Almonds and Brown Butter; USDA Prime NY Strip Au Poivre with Cracked Black Peppercorn and Cognac Sauce; Twice Baked Potato; Broccolini with Lemon and Garlic; and Sautéed Monterey-Style Sweet Corn. http://www.eddiev.com/.
Guests at the Valley’s Fleming’s Steakhouse & Wine Bar locations are also now able to order from the gluten-free menu. Numerous appetizers can be ordered as they are indicated on the menu, such as the shrimp cocktail, butternut squash soup, cream of asparagus soup and lobster bisque, which other dishes can be customized for a gluten-free option. Dinner entrees like Australian lobster, tuna mignon, Alaskan king crab and any of the meat selections can be ordered as is for a gluten-free meal. Other seafood dishes like the barbecue Scottish salmon filet and the seared scallops can be adjusted for guests with a gluten-free diet. On the dinner menu, gluten-free sides include baked potato, Fleming’s potatoes, green beans, mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, sautéed mushrooms and grilled asparagus.
