sneakybird Expands to West Valley

sneakybird, a family-owned restaurant, is expanding with the grand opening of its first West Valley location in November. Situated at The Village at Prasada in Surprise, this new 1,860-square-foot restaurant is set to offer its quick-craft approach to oven-grilled chicken sandwiches, wraps, tenders and wings.

Founded in 2022, sneakybird has built a reputation for serving up guilt-free, crispy chicken dishes that are never fried, thanks to the restaurant’s innovative cooking methods. The brand’s distinctively crafted recipes and oven-grilled offerings are complemented by an array of dry rubs and sauces, including garlic butter parmesan, smokey honey & peach, and Music City Hot, a nod to Nashville hot chicken.

Founder Dan Chaon attributes the restaurant’s success to its cooking technique, which uses a custom oven and a signature breading blend that incorporates panko flatbread and aged parmesan.

“The secret to the success of sneakybird, spelled with all lowercase letters by design to underscore its sneaky-good and guilt-free product, is the combination of a specially designed oven and innovative breading recipe that blends panko flatbread and aged parmesan that together combine to give the crunch and flavor of fried chicken,” Founder Dan Chaon said.

The new location will operate seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering a menu that includes signature chicken dishes, flatbreads, salads, tater tots, and chilled vegetable medleys. There are several options for sides, including a sweet potato tater tot alternative, coleslaw, and a fresh salad. Kids’ menu items offer mini versions of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.

The company is excited to introduce Camp Sneaky, a community outreach program that supports schools and educational initiatives through sponsorships, fundraising events, and partnerships. The brand’s commitment to local growth and collaboration is reflected in its approach to business and community building.

“We want to foster a sense of unity and growth,” said Jordan Strasser, co-owner of the new location. “We are deeply committed to nurturing the local school ecosystem, hosting fundraising events, and actively participating in community events. Our doors are always open to collaborate and foster a spirit of unity and growth.”

Strasser and his family, who are behind J2E Investments LLC, played a key role in bringing sneakybird to the West Valley. Their decision to partner with Chaon was driven by the desire to offer a healthier alternative to traditional fried food. Since launching in 2022, sneakybird has grown rapidly, with recent expansions into the southeast valley and a Gilbert location that opened in May 2024.

In partnership with J2E Investments, Chaon and Strasser are developing additional restaurants planned for Arcadia, Queen Creek, and Dove Valley within the next year. Founded with a mission to offer a cleaner, bolder approach to crispy chicken, sneakybird uses its proprietary Never Ever Fried® process to create crispy, juicy chicken without added oil.
