Uptown Farmers Market will be honoring local food vendors at the grand opening on Jan. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the southeast corner of Central and Bethany Home Road. The market is located on the north side of the North Phoenix Baptist Church property, and includes expansive parking for customers. More than 60 vendors will be present, including Horny Toad Farm, Arizona Microgreens, Double Check Ranch, Alaskan Pride Seafoods, Hayden Flour Mills, McClendon’s Select, Noble Bread, John’s Amish Country, Taste of Summer, Superstition Farms and many more. Market organizers have teamed up with multiple local restaurants and businesses to create an exciting day, including live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and Udder Delights will be giving away 200 scoops of ice cream. In addition, the farmers’ market will be raffling off prizes, including Phoenix Chamber Music Society tickets, a year subscription to Edible Phoenix Magazine, gift certificates to Frances Vintage, FnB and Sierra Bonita Grill, and lots of local food items. Bring the kids for a free bounce house, face painting, balloon animals and relay races.
Beckett’s Table (pictured) invites guests to get a taste of Napa Valley’s richest tannins via its exclusive Robert Biale Vineyards Wine Dinner held on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The intimate evening features a decadent four-course feast highlighting locally sourced game and beef dishes, paired with bold, hearty red wines from Robert Biale Vineyards. Priced at $69 per person plus tax and gratuity, the one-night event begins with a welcoming reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required by calling 602.954.1700.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, the first 100 customers in line at the new Papa Murphy’s in Fountain Hills will receive a free large signature pepperoni pizza. This promotion starts at 10 a.m. and will last until 100 people have received their free pie. For the rest of the day on Jan. 17, large signature pepperoni pizzas will cost $4 each.
On Sunday, Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., come to Luci’s Healthy Marketplace in Phoenix and learn the art of making empanadas from Chef James Monaci. Chef James will teach you how to make three different kinds. You will learn how to make your own with fresh ingredients (some that can be found in your kitchen right now) as well as learn the traditional way Empanadas are crafted everywhere from Spain to South America. Humble Pie will be celebrating its seven-year anniversary by offering half price pizzas all day on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Every one of the mouth-watering artisan pizzas on the menu will be half-off. Dine-in only.
