Monday, April 6, is National Tartan Day. In honor of this holiday, Tilted Kilt’s classic beer-battered fish and chips are buy one get one free to anyone who walks in wearing their own kilt.
In honor of National Baking Week, The Bakery PHX will be offering 20 percent off fresh-baked goodies from April 6 to 12. Each day will offer a new treat to appease your sweet tooth, from cupcakes to brownies.
Available through April 5, the new burger special at Hopdoddy, Triple B, combines bacon, bourbon and blue cheese to make up a decadent burger. Texas-style Kobe beef is seasoned and grilled to a medium rare and placed on a bed of peppery arugula. It is then topped off with melted blue jack cheese, a warm bourbon bacon-onion jam and fresh fried tobacco onions.
The restaurants of Gaslight Square are teaming up to host their first “Dine Around” on Saturday, April 11. With three staggered seatings, the “Dine Around” will feature a prix-fixe menu beginning with an innovative cocktail and appetizer at Crudo, then it’s onto NOOK for the second course of salad and flatbread paired with a glass of wine or beer. Then, The Market by Jennifer’s Restaurant + Bar will be serving the main course with three entrées to choose from accompanied with a glass of wine plus, a dessert with bubbly. An after-dinner drink at Dilly Dally will round out the evening. Tickets are $85 per person and are available for purchase at The Market by Jennifer’s Restaurant + Bar.
Treat your canine companion to an extra-special Saturday on April 11 with a leisurely lunch or late afternoon nosh on the patio of Distrito at The Saguaro (pictured), from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., for National Pet Day. Sponsored by the Animal Miracle Foundation to celebrate the joy pets bring into our lives, National Pet Day was also designed to create awareness about the plight of animals in shelters and to help them find forever homes. Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA will be at Distrito from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with pets ready to be adopted. Pups can enjoy Distrito’s special pet menu, featuring lamb and rice dishes and pastry dog treats. The most “likes” wins a night stay at The Saguaro and dinner for two at Distrito.
