Valley Tokyo Joe’s locations have launched a new Bento Box entrée, giving customers the opportunity to chose five items including the following for $9: Protein (white chicken, steak, salmon or tofu), sauce (teriyaki, yakitori, red dragon, spicy-aki, peanut, green dragon, panang curry or green curry, sushi (California roll, spicy tuna roll or gyozas), rice (white or brown), udon noodles or veggie mix and edamame, side salad, sunomono or veggie mix.
Southern Rail (pictured) is starting weekly barbecue and bourbon specials every Monday and Tuesday night, starting this week. From 5 p.m. to close, guests can enjoy a killer deal on a platter of barbecue, accompanied by two glasses of bourbon, for only $20. The sharable tray includes meat with sauce and a side. Each week the platter will change–juicy, smoked meats will depend on Chef’s whim, and seasonal veggies will influence the side. Think sticky ribs, pulled pork, smoked sausage, classic barbecue sauce and a side of crunchy chow-chow, paired with a glass of bourbon or a classic Old Fashioned. Guests can choose from a selection of 12 different bourbons.
The Market Restaurant + Bar by Jennifer’s hosts a Ponzi Vineyards wine dinner on April 7 at 6 p.m. The $85 dinner is five courses plus an amuse bouche. Reserve your spot at 602.626.5050.
Celebrate your Scottish-Irish roots on Wednesday, April 6 for National Tartan Day at Tilted Kilt Tempe. Tilted Kilt Tempe is offering free dessert for anyone who walks in wearing a kilt in celebration of the Scottish-Irish holiday.
You and your pooch are cordially invited to join Puff & Fluff on the dog-friendly patio at 32 SHEA. This informal, un-hosted gathering is just for fun, laughs, great food and drinks on April 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. It is free to attend the happy hour but voluntary monetary donations will be accepted and given to the local rescue, The Pet Knot.
Fired Pie has opened its 15th location in Arizona on Monday, March 28.  The new restaurant is in Scottsdale at 9619 N Hayden Rd. #101, on the southeast corner of Hayden and Mountain View Road.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, now through Saturday, April 30, Someburros’ friends and fans can enter to win free burritos for 30 years by sharing the reason they crave Someburros within 10 words or less to the restaurant’s Facebook page. Entries can be uploaded to Facebook.com/Someburros, and then the Vasquez family, who owns and operates the eatery’s six Valleywide locations, will then select its 10 favorite entries. There’s plenty of time for the public to get in on the voting, too, because Someburros social media fans may then vote amongst the top 10 entries and ultimately select the Someburros Superfan. Voting will then take place between Tuesday, May 3 and Monday, May 9. The official winner of free burros for 30 years will be announced Wednesday, May 8 via e-mail.
