The city of Phoenix is declaring Tuesday, May 10 Miracle Mile Deli Day by order of proclamation from Mayor Greg Stanton. To celebrate the day, a portion of the proceeds from that day’s sales will go to Feeding Matters, a local nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of pediatric feeding struggles. Also on that day, noon to 8 p.m. every hour, there will be a $100 gift card to Miracle Mile Deli given away to someone. People can stop in all day to register to win, no purchase necessary.
On Tuesday, May 10, Bluewater Grill hosts Inside Passage Tasting: Washington Cedar Plank Salmon. Chef Jason Mazur offers wild sockeye salmon cooked on a cedar plank and topped with shave fennel, caramelized cauliflower and root vegetable gratin, and paired with an Acrobat Pinot Gris from Washington. The cost is $29.95 per person.
The highly anticipated Pomelo is set to open on Thursday, May 5. Located at The Orchard PHX, the restaurant encompasses a large courtyard with multiple patios and private dining options that will be available for reservations. The kitchen features a pizza oven, imported from Italy and will also serve contemporary American food. Two other concepts at The Orchard PHX, Luci’s at The Orchard and Splurge, are set to open in mid-May.
Stingray Sushi celebrates National Spicy Tuna Day on Wednesday, May 11 with a customer appreciation special: $1 Spicy Tuna Rolls. The offer is good for one spicy tuna roll per person with a purchase at Stingray’s two locations in Chandler and Phoenix-Biltmore.
Postino Highland (pictured) opened yesterday, May 4, at 4821 N. Scottsdale Rd. Housed inside a stylish former bank branch, the Upward Projects team dug deep into architect Frank Henry’s personal archive to restore and revitalize its most architecturally significant project yet. Open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, Postino Highland will also offer signature specials such as $5 Before 5 p.m., offered everyday on all wines by the glass and draft beer pitchers, and $20 Bottle & Board on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
Satisfy Mom’s sweet tooth with Sprinkles Cupcakes MOM ox. Available May 6 through 8, this delicious treat will offer Dark Chocolate, Red Velvet, Vanilla and Salty Caramel Cupcakes. Order online or pick them up at the Scottsdale location.
Sushi Roku recently announced that it is continuing its popular Sunday Champagne brunch program through June. Launched in January, the new monthly Champagne brunch combines the flavors of the Far East with traditional brunch favorites. The new scheduled dates are May 8 (Mother’s Day), June 12 and June 19 (Father’s Day).
Savor craft brews and a seasonal, three-course menu at the monthly Brew Master Dinner Series at ZuZu inside Hotel Valley Ho. The upcoming dinner on Thursday, May 12 will feature delicious beers from SanTan Brewing Company of Chandler. Chef Charles Wiley and the brew master will be on hand to discuss the evening’s fare, including four brews, hors d’oeuvre, Butter Poached Prawns, Crispy Asian Salmon, and Peach Cobbler with salted caramel ice cream. The reception starts at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. The event costs $42 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made at 480.421.7997.
