From Monday, July 11, through July 31, Valley Famous Dave’s locations will team up to help in a Back to School Supply Drive to benefit Southwest Human Development. People are encouraged to drop off new school supplies (glue sticks, scissors, pencils, etc.) at any Famous Dave’s to help families and children in need. As a special incentive during this school supply drive, anyone who not only donates supplies, but also a new, book-size backpack at one of the Valley Famous Dave’s locations, will receive a voucher for a free Georgia Chopped Pork sandwich. One per person.
It’s Christmas in July at The Melting Pot, and the restaurants wants to give you four $25 bonus cards when you buy $100 in gift cards. These bonus cards are valid for one per quarter and can be used at any of the four Melting Pot locations in Arizona. You must purchase the gift cards during July.
Both La Bocca Urban Wine Bar + Kitchens, located on Mill Avenue in Tempe and High Street in Northeast Phoenix, partners with Taken Wine Company from the St. Helena region of Napa to host their first-ever winemaker dinners on July 20 and 21, respectively. Each evening will begin with a 30-minute reception including passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a five-course dinner. Willcox-based Carlson Creek Vineyard will be opening their second tasting room in Scottsdale’s arts and entertainment district the weekend of Friday, July 15, to Sunday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Throughout the weekend, they will not only be pouring their entire wine catalogue, but also exclusive vintages normally only available to their Wine Society members. Guests who wear their Carlson Creek branded apparel to the tasting room that weekend will also receive a complimentary tasting.
Pei Wei has announced its new summer menu today (pictured). The seasonal menu features four colorful salads, including three new recipes (Thai steak and mango salad, ahi avocado salad, Vietnamese rice noodle salad), and one updated take on a guest favorite (Asian chopped chicken salad), along with Honey Sriracha Wings.
The entire month of July is National Hot Dog Month. To celebrate, Miracle Mile Deli is offering up a Dog Days of Summer special. For $5, you can purchase a Hebrew National hot dog, French fries and a small soft drink from Monday, July 18, through Sunday, July 24. This special deal will be available for lunch and dinner (but not before 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday). Ask for the “hot dog special.” Also happening at Miracle Mile Deli from now until July 22, the restaurant has teamed up with local nonprofit Happily Ever After League (HEAL) to raise enough funds to fill 42 backpacks for Valley kids in need for back to school. Guests will see a display at the front of the Miracle Mile Deli counter with information about each kid and how much their backpack costs for school. People can donate as much as they want.
Sprinkles Cupcakes will offers Sprinkles Ice Cream scoops to the first 100 people in line on Wednesday, July 20, beginning at noon. This exclusive opportunity will allow guests to try Sprinkles ice cream brand, although Sprinkles Ice Cream is not currently being sold in the Phoenix area.
Join vomFASS at Sur La Table for a Spanish cooking class on July 22. Enjoy a hands-on class at 6:30 p.m. and learn to prepare several Spanish-style tapas dishes, plus paella. $75 per person, includes hands-on cooking class and a full meal. Chompie’s, Arizona’s New York Deli, says “thank you” to its customers with its 7th Annual Customer Appreciation Day. On Wednesday, July 20, guests can enjoy half-price ala carte Jewish sliders at Chompie’s five Valley locations from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
