Cloth & Flame (pictured), is Arizona’s first wilderness and outdoor adventure dining company, kicks off its 2017 Desert Dinners series with a meal prepared by Chef Stephen Jones on Jan. 21. The five-course dinner filled with local produce with wine pairings and a craft cocktail demonstration will take place on the outskirts of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert. Tickets are $90 per person and include transportation to and from the desert. The event that is limited to 36 seats; book a seat here.
Tickets are on sale for the Chocolate and Wine Experience, taking place Jan. 27. At the Saguaro Scottsdale, the Scottsdale League for the Arts presents a night of sweet indulges and sophistication including treats from local chocolatiers, gourmet cuisine, wine samples from local wineries and fresh local craft beer. Highlights include a s’more’s station, an interactive photo booth, chocolate painting, a “make your own” art project station, chocolate martinis and a chance to win tickets to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival in April. Net proceeds from the Chocolate and Wine experience will benefit local arts program. General admission to the Chocolate and Wine Experience is $60 if purchased during presale or $70 at the door. Early admission tickets are available for $75 and will get ticket holders into the event an hour early with champagne welcome and a special treat. Admission is all inclusive and includes unlimited bites, 12 drink samples and access to all the event activities. This is a 21-plus event.
Celebrate the Monday Night Chef’s Table series hosted by ZuZu inside the hip Hotel Valley Ho. A seasonal four-course menu is paired with four wines or spirits from the special guest. At the upcoming dinner on Monday, Jan. 23, Executive Chef Russell LaCasce will present his first-ever Monday Night Chef’s Table menu, after joining the hotel earlier this month. Each course will be paired with a different wine from Copper Cane Wines & Provisions, which features a variety of delicious pours including Elouan of Oregon and Beran and Belle Glos of California. Chef LaCasce and the special guest will discuss the evening’s fare and how the wines are made. The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and costs $68 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A new fast, casual sandwich, salad, juice and smoothie shop on Mill Avenue, Delicious Factory, will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Jan. 21 through Tuesday, Jan. 24, with free fresh pressed juice between 3 and 6 p.m. The giveaway has a $5 per person value. The delectable handcrafted juices combine several flavors, such as mango, pineapple, passion fruit and apple, and are fresh pressed at the time they are ordered.
Think you have the most romantic love story? Submit it to the Scottsdale Sprinkles Facebook Page by Feb. 7 and the winner will be chosen on Feb. 10. The winner will receive their signature XOX Box, topped with XOX and heart decorations. The Sprinkles XOX box is available Feb. 1-14. Also, go into the cupcake bakery and pick the flavor of your choice and Sprinkles will decorate your cupcake with special Care Bear decorations. The cupcakes are available until Jan. 25.
Coup Des Tartes hosts the Herman Story Winemaker Dinner on Jan. 26. Attendees will meet Vailia From, the winemaker and proprietor of Herman Story Wines. The four-course wine-paired menu is $75 plus tax and gratuity.
Today, from 4 to 5 p.m., Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia hosts the Sweet & Savory Tamales & Tequila Ponche cooking class. Omni Scottsdale’s expert culinary team hosts monthly cooking classes featuring the most flavorful, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Paired with each cooking class, enjoy a mini mixology lesson. The event is limited to 14 people. $30 per person; $50 per couple. Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers and the Phoenix Suns are bringing the fun and excitement of the game into the restaurants with the Suns Gorilla, Suns Dancers and Solar Squad. On Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m., fans can enjoy photo ops, meet-and-greets, prizes, giveaways and trivia, as well as Effen Vodka drink specials ($6 Effen Cucumber Mule and $6 Suns Press) at the restaurant’s Gilbert location.
