Sprinkles is debuting its new Margarita cupcake just in time for Cinco de Mayo. The cupcake is made with key lime tequila cake, topped with key lime frosting and dusted with salt around the rim. The sweet treat is available from May 2-23. Plus, Sprinkles has teamed up with Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Anyone who visits Z’Tejas at the Scottsdale mall on May 5, and purchases their Leo Street Taco Special for $9.95, will receive a buy one get one Margarita cupcake voucher that can be redeemed at Sprinkles.
Celebrate the Kentucky Derby, starting Friday, May 3, at Kelly’s at Southbridge. Enjoy food and drink specials all weekend, including $8 mint julips with Makers Mark, $8 Patron margaritas and $12 carne or pollo tacos. Also, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, ladies will have a chance to win prizes for wearing the best Derby hat.
Phoenix’s Crudo and NOCA team up for a unique dining experience May 9. It all starts at Crudo at 6:30 p.m. where the 32 dinners will meet up, and then half the group will split off and travel via a complimentary ride on the Stolichnaya Vodka bus to NOCA. Both groups will then enjoy the first and second courses, and then switch locations, again via bus shuttle, before enjoying the third, fourth and fifth courses at the opposite restaurant. On Tuesday, May 7, the Famous Dave’s BBQ locations in Chandler, Peoria, Mesa and Gilbert are celebrating and thanking local educators. Valley teachers and educators will receive a free Famous Dave’s BBQ Two Meat Salute for “National Teacher Appreciation Day.” Arizona teachers and
educators with valid photo ID and a copy of their teaching certificate can receive this free meal.
LON’s at the Hermosa Inn is launching a monthly series of complimentary wine tastings, kicking off May 7. The tastings – held the first Tuesday of every month from 5 – 7 p.m. – will be led by one of LON’s wine wholesalers, who will be pouring one- to two-ounce pours, while sharing their knowledge of the product and winemaker. For that night only, the featured wine will be available for 25 percent off per bottle. LON’s sommelier Bill Parker will also be on hand to make pairing suggestions and answer any questions regarding the wine program. On Tuesday, Young’s Market Company presents St. Supéry Cabernet and Ponzi Pinot Gris.
