Milagro Grill (pictured) in Phoenix dishes up a four-course feast Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 pm. For $45 per person, guests will dig into slow-braised meats, spice-rubbed poultry and smoked seafood, all paired with top-flight tequila cocktails.
Guests who bring a new, unwrapped toy for young children through high school-aged youth to Sprinkles Cupcakes through Dec. 15 will receive a free cupcake of their choice. The promotion is part of the Scottsdale Fire Department’s annual toy drive which provides toys to local underprivileged children and benefits U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Program and Scottsdale’s Paiute Neighborhood Center.
Local Stephanie “Tess” Petersen’s newest cookbook, written in partnership with Honeyville Farms, “The Meals in a Jar Handbook: Gourmet Food Storage Made Easy” debuted this week online. It features more than 100 recipes for from-scratch “just add water” meals for everyday use or longer-term storage. Chef Tess will showcase these meals in a jar recipes at a hands-on book signing to be held from 4-6 p.m. Dec. 11 at Honeyville Farms in Chandler.
The Food Truck Caravan–held every Saturday night from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on the northwest corner of 5th Ave. and Goldwater in Scottsdale–will be holding a special two-night series in December for the newest food trucks, like Waffle Crush, Rock-A-Belly, Grilled Addiction, Franks, Pita City, Sweet Kitchen, Roasted Shallot and Chedda Truck, on Dec. 7 and 14. The theme will be “New to You Food” as we celebrate the next generation of gourmet food trucks in Phoenix.
NYPD Pizza’s Grand Opening on Tues., Dec. 10 at its newly remodeled Camelback and 20th St. location in Phoenix kicks off the pizzeria’s “Banner Children’s Toy Drive” at nine of its restaurant locations Valley-wide through Dec. 24. All donations at the NYPD Pizza at the aforementioned location will receive two free eight-inch My ‘Za pizza certificates during the Dec. 10 Grand Opening. All donations at every restaurant through Dec. 24 will receive one free eight-inch My ‘Za pizza certificate.
Sixty-six national and local breweries will be quenching plenty of thirsts this Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Heritage Square from noon-6 p.m., pouring a mix of their flagship, seasonal and rare beer offerings at the Craft Brew Festival. Food truck eats from Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse and The Traveling Monk will also be available. Admission into the festival grounds is free; however, in order to drink beer, all 21-and-over patrons must purchase the 2013 souvenir mug which comes with 12 four-oz. beer samples. Purchase the mug and samples through online pre-sale to save $10 off of the day of pricing, which is $25 pre-sale and $35 day of. VIP tickets are also available.
On the evening of Dec. 11, Taggia at FireSky Resort in Scottsdale dishes up a Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles from around the world for $65 per person. (Wine is $45 per person.) The meal features four delectable courses. To RSVP, call 480.424.6095.
