June 21: Tilted Earth Wine & Music Festival in Cottonwood.
This summer, join six of the Valley’s top chefs as they host a complimentary cooking demo series at Williams-Sonoma inside the Biltmore Fashion Park. On Saturday, June 21 at 11 a.m., join The Phoenician’s Lee Hillson as he whips up a recipe featured in the “100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes” cookbook. Throughout July and August, Chef Robert McGrath, Chef Chris Newstrom, Chef Aurore de Beaudry, and Chef Josh Hebert will also feature their dishes from the cookbook. Copies of this cookbook celebrating Arizona’s culinary heritage will be available for purchase at the events for $32.95.
On Friday, June 20 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the public is invited to attend Luci’s Local Food, Wine & Beer Tasting Extravaganza at Phoenix-based Luci’s Healthy Marketplace. Guests can sample summer wines and beers while enjoying live music, raffles and great company–all for free. More than 20 local vendors will be on hand, providing complimentary bites of everything from local peanut butter and peach cobbler to tamales.
Phoenix’s TEXAZ Grill celebrates National Catfish Day June 25 with its mouthwatering signature dish, fried catfish. This entree features two river cat fillets breaded in buttermilk crumbs and then fried until golden brown. The catfish is served with traditional tartar sauce, lemon juice, and the famous TEXAZ fried potatoes. (There is also a diet-friendly grilled version.)
Milagro Grill hosts a four-course dinner paired with wine from the award-winning Vina Casablanca Winery on June 26. The cocktail reception kicks off at 6:30 p.m.; the dinner is $40 plus gratuity and tax. Reservations are required by calling 602.773.5844.
All this summer, Christopher’s and Crush Lounge will be treated to a Tour de Taste of France when Chef Christopher Gross launches the new “Petit Plates” menu. Designed to share, diners will be invited to discover a vibrant small plates menu of French-inspired fare highlighting both classic and contemporary dishes starting from $5 that will be available daily from open to close. Dishes include frog legs with herbs and garlic, rabbit salad and more.
