Foodie news roundup for the week of August 22.
OCEAN PRIME has announced its partnership with Coravin, Inc., manufacturer of the Coravin System, which allows consumers to pour and enjoy wine without pulling the cork. The Coravin program will add four exclusive wines by the glass to OCEAN PRIME’s extensive wine list, which already features a variety of reds, whites and sparkling wines. Coravin works by pouring a glass of wine without ever opening a bottle via cork removal. A needle goes through the cork to access the wine, and argon, an inert gas used frequently in winemaking, replaces the wine in the bottle. This allows the restaurant to revisit the same bottle later that night, week, month, or year, and the wine will have the same taste because it was never exposed to oxygen.

The Roker Burger ($7.49)is a 100 percent all-natural Angus burger topped with Niman Ranch BBQ pulled pork, double American cheese, red-eye mayo and pickles. Plus, $1 from every Roker Burger will support No Kid Hungry in its effort to end childhood hunger in America, where 1 in 5 kids in America are living in households without consistent access to food.
