On Saturday, Oct. 9, Scottsdale Waterfront is about to get a whole lot more delicious. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the first-ever Arizona Taco Festival, from the guys who brought us the Arizona Barbecue Festival, will make way for 30 competitive taco teams who will cook-off in four categories—chicken, beef, pork, and seafood—for a prize of $7,500. (Prizes will also be awarded for Best Booth, Best Guacamole, Best Salsa, and Anything Goes Taco.)
Taco festival goers can enjoy mini street tacos and samples of guacamole and salsa for $2 each (general admission is $10; VIP tickets are $50). Shaved ice, tequila samples, margaritas, and Mexican beers will be available for an additional cost. Music and a Kids Zone will also be on hand to add to the fun. Select proceeds from all profits from the Arizona Taco Festival will benefit Waste Not. http://aztacofestival.com/.
