Today, the nation honors treasured veterans and many Valley dining destinations are honoring them with dining deals and special menus.
BLT Steak at the Scottsdale’s JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa offers a special, multi-course menu for Veteran’s Day. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Camp Patriot, a nonprofit organization created to give disabled US military veterans the opportunity to experience outdoor adventures. The seasonally inspired menu features Santa Barbara mussels; Maine lobster chowder; dry-aged smoked pepper-crusted prime rib; pan-roasted dover sole; caramelized delicata squash; acorn squash raviolis; baked Granny Smith apple with bourbon caramel and butter pecan ice cream; and IBC root beer float with brown butter ice cream and cinnamon sugar donut holes. http://www.camelbackinn.com/.
Phoenix’s Alice Cooperstown Restaurant is thanking veterans today with a free meal and celebration. In honor of Veteran’s Day, the first 500 veterans at Cooperstown from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. will be treated to a traditional barbecue meal (think a smoked pulled pork, chicken or beef sandwich with cole slaw, baked beans, dessert and soft drinks). After serving the first 500 veterans, Cooperstown is offering $5 sandwich meals for the general public. There will be a live raffle and all proceeds will benefit Jared Allen’s Homes 4 Wounded Warriors foundation. http://www.alicecooperstown.com/.
All four Valley-based Z’Tejas restaurants will offering a Bud & a Burger for $11.11 today. Plus, $1 from every deal–which features the Z’Red, White and Blue Burger topped with lettuce, red onion, tomato and bleu cheese and sided with fries–ordered will benefit VetTix, a national organization that gives active military and veterans tickets to concerts, sporting events and other activities around the country. http://www.ztejas.com/.
