Consider yourself an Italian food lover? Well, there are two-can’t miss opportunities coming up for you to enjoy the best the Valley has to offer.
Hosted by the Italian Association of Arizona, the two-day Italian Festival takes place on Saturday, March 25 (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday, March 26 (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at Civic Center Mall. Sponsored by the City of Scottsdale, the celebration honors Italian cuisine and artists (with wine and food tastings and live performances) while a portion of the proceeds will go to St. Vincent de Paul. Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door; children under 12 are free.
As an homage to his early years in Reino, Chef Marcellino Verzino will welcome guests to Marcellino Ristorante in Scottsdale for a Heritage Dinner on April 4 at 7 p.m. In addition to a five-course feast of dishes that celebrate his Italian heritage and are made from recipes that are very personal to him, enjoy Chef’s stories about his eclectic family and farm life in the Campania region. Plus, all courses are paired with regional wines from Chef’s friend Libero Rillo, the third-generation owner of the family’s vineyard, Fontana Vecchia in the Campania region. Pricing is $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity, for general restaurant seating; $175 per person, plus tax and gratuity, for VIP Chef’s Island Seating.
