Every October, we can count on two things: Not to see leaves changing color in Phoenix and for some of our favorite bakeries to dole out tasty cupcakes that raise funds for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Through Oct. 7, Scottsdale’s Sprinkles Cupcakes will be donate 100 percent of the proceeds from its Pink Ribbon cupcake to Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Cancer Research Fund. (Since 2005, Sprinkles has raised more than $100,000 for women’s cancer research.) The strawberry Pink Ribbon cupcakes is decked with a pink sugar ribbon. 480.970.4321, www.sprinkles.com.
Valley Wildflower Bread Companies are also putting money where are mouths are: $1 from each of its Pink Ribbon cupcakes will go toward aiding Susan G. Komen for the Cure through Oct. 11. (Wildflowers is actually a silver sponsor of the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure® which will be held October 10 in Phoenix.) www.wildflowerbread.com.
