Now that our first 100-degree days are behind us, it is time to start thinking about what cooling cocktails to whip up to get us through the next few months. For those hot late-spring days, try these fruity cocktail recipes poolside.
El Coco Doble
2 oz. 1800 Coconut
Juice of one lime
3⁄4 oz. Fresh grapefruit juice
1⁄2 oz. Simple syrup
Shake with ice and strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with spent lime shell.
Blood Orange Sparkling Vodka
1.5 oz. Hangar 1 Straight Vodka
0.5 oz. Tarragon simple syrup
2 oz. Fresh blood orange juice
Sparkling water
Combine ingredients and stir together. Add a handful of ice cubes and top with sparkling water. Garnish with blood orange slices and tarragon sprigs.
El Diablo
2 parts Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
1 part Fresh lime juice
¾ part Crème de cassis liqueur
Top with ginger beer
Shake first three ingredients with ice, and strain into ice-filled Collins glass. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedge.
