Phoenix, Arizona’s very own Century Grand took home the win for “Best U.S. Cocktail Bar” in the industry-acclaimed 2023 Tales Spirited Awards, which was presented during the 21st annual Tales of the Cocktail conference held on July 23–28, 2023.
Founded in 2007, the Spirited Awards is one of the most revered accolades in the drinks industry, which honors professionals, organizations and establishments shaping the spirits and cocktail community and showcasing excellence on a global scale.
This year’s Spirited Awards were presented to finalists who embodied the 2023 conference theme, “Vitalize,” and who “encapsulate the hospitality community’s vibrancy and adaptability,” and “made an indelible contribution to invigorating and elevating the collective cocktail community,” according to the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.
As one of four Top Finalists for “Best U.S. Cocktail Bar,” the team at Century Grand was up against fellow concepts on North America’s 50 Best Bars List, including Double Chicken Please and Overstory in New York and Service Bar in Washington, D.C., before ultimately securing the winning title.
In addition to this exciting win, Century Grand made the 2023 Spirited Awards’ Top 10 Nominees List in multiple other categories, including Best U.S. Bar Mentor (Jason Asher), Best U.S. Bar Team (Century Grand) and Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar (UnderTow Gilbert).
After recently making North America’s “50 Best Bars” list, and now winning “Best U.S. Cocktail Bar,” Century Grand and the Barter & Shake team continue to take the hospitality industry by storm, helping to put Arizona and the city of Phoenix on the map as a cocktail haven.
