New Year’s Eve at Sassi

Sassi in Scottsdale is dishing up a romantic and delicious way to ring in the New Year. The Italian restaurant will host both early and late seatings for New Year’s Eve, the first of which starts at 5:30 p.m.
The first seating begins with three different Sputini served for cocktail hour, followed by dinner, which will be served at 6:30 p.m. starting with a choice of antipasti. Select from the Porcini Mushroom Panna Cotta made with black truffle caviar, green onion and parsley puree, and a parsnip crisp or the Lobster Vellutata with lemon mascarpone and black pepper biscotti. For the Secondi, choose from the Brasato al Barolo, Wood Oven-Roasted Vermont Quail, or Wood-Grilled Florida Grouper. The Brasato al Barolo is comprised of beef short rib braised in Barolo with Parmesan and herb polenta and horseradish-citrus gremolata. The quail is served with pancetta stuffing and apricot and pistachio farrotto and the grouper is made with oven-cured tomatoes, artichokes, rock shrimp, and preserved citrus. Finish the meal with a Dolce of Sogno Nero–flourless chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse, salted caramel and a praline crunch.
The second seating begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktail hour beforehand and is priced at $85 per person and guests are asked to give up their table by 8:30 p.m. For guests looking for later reservations, Sassi also has seatings at 8:30, 9:00, and 9:30 p.m. to enjoy before ringing in the New Year. For the dinner reservations after 6:30 p.m., a Primi course of Raviolo alla Campidanese with saffron-stained pasta, spicy pork and ricotta filling, and Pecorino will be offered in addition the other courses. The later reservations will also enjoy live entertainment, party favors and Champagne at midnight for the price of $135 per person.
