Desert Sky Mall is hosting a “Give Back for Back-to-School” campaign with the goal of helping children in foster care prepare for the school year. As part of the campaign, the shopping center presented a $5,000 check to The Foster Alliance in support of the children it serves.
The shopping center partnered with The Foster Alliance to collect funds for essential items so that kids in the foster system have the supplies they need and a book of stylish confidence at school, not just at the start but throughout the entire school year.
“Every child should have the opportunity to begin the school year feeling confident, included and prepared to learn,” said Maureen Noe, President & CEO of The Foster Alliance. “Through the support of partners such as Desert Sky Mall, our Back-to-School Program helps provide children in foster care across Arizona and New Mexico with essential school supplies while also reducing the burden on foster and kinship families.”
Their goal is to reach more than 5,000 children in the foster care system.
“We are excited to partner with The Foster Alliance to support families who need a little extra help this time of year,” said Gabrielle Ochoa, General Manager for Desert Sky Mall. “Whether it’s a new backpack, school supplies or financial support, we’re proud to continue to give back to the community that supports us.”
