July 29, 2026. The 2nd Annual Sleep Out, hosted by Homeless ID Project and St. Joseph the Worker, brought together community members, businesses and 11 nonprofit and community partners to raise awareness and critical funding for individuals experiencing homelessness. The event raised $103,576, with every donation doubled through a $50,000 matching gift challenge. Participants gathered at Culdesac Tempe before traveling by Valley Metro light rail to the overnight Sleep Out in Phoenix, gaining a deeper understanding of the barriers many individuals face. Participating organizations included Homeless ID Project, St. Joseph the Worker, Circle the City, Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), Tempe Community Action Agency, Crossroads, Chrysalis, The Fort Greene Project, Valley Metro, Culdesac and UMOM&'s Helpings Café. Together, they demonstrated the power of collaboration to expand access to identification, employment, housing and long-term stability across the Valley.
